Milk Mummies

I wanted to make my son a healthy treat to bring to daycare.  I saw this idea in Parenting Magazine and thought it was super cute and easy.

Materials:
Individual Milk Boxes
White Duck Tape
Self Adhesive Googly Eyes
X-Acto Knife

Step 1: Cut strips of duck tape.  I cut various sizes.

Step 2:  Start covering the top of the milk.  Do not cover the hole for the straw.

Step 3:  Cover the entire carton overlapping the pieces of duck tape.

Step 4:  Apply the googly eyes.  Then, cut another thin piece of duck tape and place over the eyes to get the mummy effect.

Halloween Mason Jars

Being on bed rest has given me the time and motivation to create some seasonal crafts for the house. My friend Beth made these a few weeks ago and I saw a ton of them on www.pinterest.com

Materials
Mod podge
Glue
Tissue paper
Mason jars
Black paper

Step 1: Cut strips of paper into 2 inch pieces. Measure the size of the jar for the length.

Step 2: Apply a generous amount of mod podge to the jar then, apply the strips of tissue paper. I thought it looked great to overlap the paper.

Step 3: As the jars dry, work on the faces.

Step 4: Glue the faces then complete another layer of mod podge.

Step 5: Let the jars dry, then drop in a tea light candle.

This was an easy Halloween craft that I plan on making with Nolan next year. Looking forward to making winter mason jars using epson salt. Stay tuned.
